Anime Overview: Uta no Prince-sama ~ Maji LOVE Revolutions

Hello, everyone!

You’ve probably been seeing me post about UtaPri a lot on my recent posts, but I just can’t help it. This is the only anime that makes me all squeal-y without too much drama and sadness going on, at the moment. Definitely a series that will lift you up from an exhausted, depressing day.  So this post will be an overview of UtaPri Maji Love Revolutions! + a little overview of the OVA of the 2nd season.  ^_^

Spoilers and fangirling, as usual! (I don’t know but this somehow ended up being hella long, whoops.)

Diving into the Naruto craze

Hello, hello.

Just thought of posting something to let you guys know what I’ve been up to, haha.

You see, Naruto used to be broadcasted on a local station here, and I was really a fan of it before since, well, it’s a part of my childhood. I’ve never really bothered to keep watching though, because of the massive episodes (although the Malay dubs are hella fine). It’s still being broadcasted here but the show-time has changed, and I couldn’t find the time to go to the living room and watch (because I’m always cooped up in my room ha ha) so… I thought I shouldn’t bother.

But recently, I found a fanart on Tumblr, which is this one.

Can’t you see the perfection?

You see, I wasn’t actually a huge fan of Boruto because, I was still a bit ‘meh’ about the whole thing, I’m not even sure why. But once I saw this fanart, my heart just went hnghhh oH MY GOD. I mean come on!! Look at that sensei, look at that blue boy!! I wonder who they are??? They all looked so perfect!! ❤

So my interest was a bit piqued. I wanted to know who these kids are, etc. Tried asking my friends but they have no idea, so I decided to find out myself, without reading the wiki. As to not avoid any spoilers, I told myself to actually catch up on the Naruto Shippuden series, since I like to watch things in order they’re released. So first I watched the few Naruto Shippuden movies, making sure that I only watch the ones I’m interested in, and I thought that if I can keep up with everything, I’ll be watching the series as a whole.

So guess what I’ve been into for the past few days? I’ve been binge-watching Naruto Shippuden all day long.

I just don’t know, these sudden feeeeeels for the anime, gahhh. I can actually keep up with the anime so far without getting bored! I skip most of the fillers though. So much fillers, you don’t even know.

I’m pretty sure nobody knew, but my favourite character of all time would be…. Kakashi! ❤ I chose him because my first crush (whoops) Sasuke is a bit of an… emo kid. Also Sai is attractive too, but I just saw a wiki of him and my heart is crushed. I won’t say anything haha. I like Neiji as well but hmmm. //cries in the corner// Sasori too… //cries more//

I still got wayyssss to go since it has many fillers, but until I catch up to the recent episodes, I won’t be watching Boruto anytime soon… (I still wanna know whose kid that blue boy is though!! I figured out the teacher — it’s Konohamaru!! Whew.)

I could say that in Naruto, the character developments are A+++. From Naruto to the side-characters, I guess there’s something for everyone and there’s motivation for all kind of things. When I watch this, I feel pumped up and just, have these spirit and energy to live you know, haha.

Anyway, so far, what I’ve thought is that, this series have like the most numbers for emo people that’s emo and seek revenge here and there lol.

I cried a hella lot when Naruto met his father in his dreams, and finally get to know that the Fourth Hokage is actually his dad asdhkajkjl and also Kakashi’s reaction ;;;; And Kakashi’s death ahh. I ship the bromance of Naruto and Kakashi for student x teacher, and until now, I still don’t understand why Naruto wants Sasuke to come back so much (when he already have Kakashi yooo). But I can’t hate that emo guy so haha (basically I think the whole series is Naruto chasing Sasuke down. Isn’t that the whole plot).

Fanservice and bromance here and there, of course. Producers i c whut u did thurrr.

My other friends are more to catching up on One Piece and Fairy Tail, so I chose Naruto because why not? Actually, I was supposed to dive into Bleach hell haha but that didn’t go well. And when I was hooked with Naruto Shippuden, I knew I have emerged to a new hell heaven because all of my time will be wasted on this series alone. Trust me.

I’m taking the first week of February off to catch up at least 100eps (that’s not even many) but alas! I’m having fun and that’s important hehehe.

Naruto is a childhood anime for me, apart from Tsubasa Chronicles. I hold both these two titles close to heart compared to Dragon Ball Z, etc. And at this point, if I don’t learn much Japanese after like 200+ eps, I would dislike myself so much lol.

I’ve been watching One-Punch Man, Osomatsu-san and even Donten ni Warau, but I couldn’t actually stick to any of these titles at the moment so I’ll be fangirling over Naruto for a long while, mainly on Twitter. So please bear with me, haha.

That’s all the updates for now. I have some posts queued up while I dive into this series and I’m not even sure when I’ll be emerging back to the land of the living, but we’ll see how things go.

Thank you so much for reading and have a great month ahead! Happy February!! Byeom~

Anime Overview: Kuroko no Basuke

Hello, everyone.

Sorry that I couldn’t update on the 1st Jan, haha. I have lots to write about but I like it if I write something when I still have the feels, you know. Makes it easier to get a flow rather than just a textbook type of review or something, haha. And I know this anime has finished ages ago, but welp, I rebel through everything, so! 😀

As usual, this post will be full of my personal opinions and may contain spoilers, so read more under the cut! (Also this post combines all three seasons.)

Anime Overview: Uta no Prince-sama ~ Maji Love 2000%

Finally, I finished yet another anime. It’s been a while since I actually finished a series, so I’m really glad I get to watch this despite my busy schedule. School’s starting this Monday so I thought, why not enjoy the holidays to the fullest and dive myself into a world of adorable dorky cheesy 2d guys? So this time, I watched the second season of my fave “Let’s Song!” series, UtaPri! (But first, I’d like to apologize if this post is a bit different from my past posts; I’m getting a little bit rusty….)

You can read my overview of the first season of UtaPri here. And yes, I know that the 3rd season is out. But alas! I love watching completed anime and I’m always behind anyway huhu. This is not spoiler-free, as usual. Moving on!

Anime Overview: Ghost Hunt

Plot Summary: Telling ghost stories is a favorite past time of Mai Taniyama and her friends—that is, until she meets 17-year-old Kazuya Shibuya, the man sent by Shibuya Psychic Research Center to investigate paranormal activity at a supposedly haunted school. When Mai gets caught in a dangerous situation, she is rescued by Kazuya’s assistant. Saving her lands the assistant incapacitated, and Kazuya demands that Mai become his assistant, instead…

Genre(s): Horror, Drama, Psychological, Supernatural

This anime (and the manga) are based off the original light novel series by Fuyumi Ono. As far as I can see, the novel has no translations as of yet, but I hope it’ll come by soon ^^

Ghost Hunt is a horror anime, in which they hunt for ghosts. You can imagine a ghost hunt reality show thingy, in anime form. Minus the recording, of course. It all started when Mai and her friends were telling ghost-stories almost everyday, and then they met Kazuya, and then when Mai screwed up the next day and broke a video camera of Kazuya (and broke the arm of his assistant, at that), the guy asked her to work in place of the assistant. I literally squealed at the idea because “omg, this is gonna cute!”.

I’m not comparing or anything, but yeah, it does has that elements from Psychic Detective Yakumo. Just that, PDY has more of that  ‘feel’ of relationship changes and character growth, but in Ghost Hunt, it’s pretty so-so. The characters do get close to each other, though. What can I say, we have a lot of characters even in one episode and then those characters add up from time to time. (I kinda think that it’s crowded?).

One thing to note is that, yes, the main male lead is a cold, calm and collected person. And the female lead is the adorable, squeal-y girl. Mai is pretty strong in her own ways, quite an air-head, so I find her likeable. She’s also really brave. But in terms of the relationship between these two, I see little to no real progress. I mean, in PDY you could literally see Yakumo began to open up to Haruka and gradually helps each other at times. But in Ghost Hunt, it’s like a real unrequited love. It does have it moments in which I squeal and fangirl for, because hey, you know how mochii is. >w<

However! In terms of horror, I think Ghost Hunt wins. The only thing slacking is that the art kinda stop you from having that eerie feeling, but the background music and all are really scary, I suppose. There’s this doll-house episode, and I heard that most people are scared of that… 😉 I don’t wanna spoil anything, but for someone who’s not really scared of ghost stories like these, even I thought to myself “gosh, what would happen if I’m in that situation?”. Heheh :3

The art is, well, have I mentioned that it was made in 2006 something? So, you know… The music, as mentioned earlier, really suit perfectly with the situations. But if you’re looking for an anime with some nice OP or ED, then this doesn’t fit in that criteria. The OP and ED are mostly just music in the background with credits on-screen and the images of, I’m not sure, maybe orbs? Gradually those things change into some sort of scary animation as you progress through the episode. Mwahaha.

I’m sorry if I sound so negative in this overview. I really enjoyed it, I do. But gradually it drags on
and being the picky person I am, I halted the episodes when I see like there’s no progress or character reveal-lation of sorts. Just that, it’s full of scary episodes and cases that would make you curious for more! The mysteries are pretty intriguing too.

So if you’re into something mysterious and horror, and doesn’t mind the art, then this series is definitely for you! As for me, this time I’ll rate it 7/10. I don’t feel like I wasted some precious hours watching it, because I did enjoy it. I’ll probably watch it later and if that time really comes, I’ll surely improve this post with lots more positivity and good points! Haha.

If you have any anime that you would like to recommend, do tell me! Thanks for reading, byeom~

Anime Overview: Uta no Prince-sama ~ Maji Love 1000%

Finally, an anime overview post! It’s been a long while I haven’t done this, so enjoy! ^^

As I mentioned before in a recent post, UtaPri got me hooked on the spot on the first episode. The main attraction was obviously the pretty, glowing art, but then the characters are also beautifully-written. Plus, an anime with a lot of hopeful and colourful singing is really something else!

The Flow:

I really liked how at the first episode, it’s not a typical ‘girl wakes up from her bed and later on says “I’m leaving”!’ or anything of the sort. From the very first episode, you could get the feeling that the main character, Nanami Haruka, is a persistent girl full of determination. Also, a lot of main characters are introduced in the first episode and it gave me a thrill on wanting to know them more! (And decided who to bias for, of course. Mwahaha).

Plus! A good point of this anime is that it has a pace, and in almost each episode, it tells the story of the guys, one after another. The story revolves around Haruka, and the people around her, and I do think that it’s a good point.  Only that it kinda bores me on the 10th/11th episode, near the end. But then it picked (me) up, and so I managed to finish the whole thing! It certainly gives you the “I wanna watch moreeeeee” feel ;;;

Aside from that, I learnt a lot from this series! So motivational though, I felt like I’m watching something that has so many good values, as if I’m going to write them out on exams! I can definitely point them out! xD

The Characters:

Perfect. Voila!

Okay, maybe not perfect in some cases, or in some people’s point of view, but to me, they’re all so adorable omg pls Haruka is the cutest I just wanna protect her *A* I know she’s kinda getting the hate for being a cry-baby in some cases, but hey, not all girls are tough like us! xD

ST☆RISH members are something else, though. I seriously love them. All of them. Each one of them is very different in terms of personality, but in the end, they’re all buddies and so much bromance you can see flying around almost everywhere :3 Freaking fan-service tsk.

My favourite from ST☆RISH is definitely Syo, because he’s short, adorable, and his colour is pink (!!!) anddd he gets mad a lot and omg if it’s not cute I don’t know what is. Shinomiya kinda annoyed me at first because he kept bugging people (especially Syo. I’m in the Syo protection squad!) but then when I got to know that he’s…. *O* That’s really unexpected like hella whoa why r u doing this to meeee? ? His voice is perfect for upbeat band songs like those! Ichinose kinda got in my dislike list as well but then he just…. booms back out of the negative mind of me haha. Also, I ship Haruka and Ittoki 5ever!! The other members also makes me go omg??? a lot.

Not to forget, Haruka’s bestfriend that I forgot what her name was! I can literally imagine myself like that lol because I’m as outgoing and my friends are shy most of the time haha. And the sensei… Please get that pink-haired beautiful sensei away from me. I love him/her @_@

I’m just upset that when Haruka cries, nobody gives her a hug! ><

The Music:

Please don’t ask me to choose my favourite song omg I love almost all of them ;;; Rather than how the song is, I love how the lyrics just shoot through your heart. This is why I love anime songs, they have some sort of message conveyed and not like songs that’s just… love songs. The ending song actually annoyed me a bit but then I began to love it huhu.

Final Thoughts:

All in all, this anime is definitely amazing! I don’t know, but I think the word that I should use is ‘beautiful’. It’s a beautiful anime. Also, the hippy songs makes you shake yo shoulders and booty and dance a long most of the time. I squealed so much even during the first episode, and squealed through almost everything else. I almost, almost, cried on the last episode. (Please stop bullying my Haruka //holds shield). I’m against the voices of people saying “there is no way a lot of guys all are head over heels for just a girl”, because actually, it’s a realistic situation. The world is a weird place, but guys’ feelings are even weird //shrugs

I wanna point out some values I found that was motivational to me in a lot of cases:

  • When people push you down, slowly rise back up and fight. Show ‘em what you got.
  • Be the light and hope for other people.
  • Things don’t always gonna go as planned, but alas, there is always hope.
  • Don’t strain yourself too much.
  • You’ll look nice even when you’re sleeping and in a nightgown.
  • A cat is actually a…..

Okay the bottom points are just for fun and it’s not funny, I know.

Anyway! I’m gonna rate this anime 7.5/10 and would definitely recommend this to people, mostly to otome-game lovers and music lovers, or for someone who needs a light or hope in their harsh journey of life, or maybe just something you wanna watch for fun! It’s all sparkly and happy and lesser saddening in most cases 😉 I’m probably gonna watch the 2nd season, but not some time soon hehe.

Now that I finally finished this post, I’m gonna start cleaning a new chapter of Miunohri to Swan and publish it some time soon. Also, time to get moving on my homework huhu.

Thank you so much for reading, and if you have any opinions or characters you love, feel free to comment~ Have a nice day, byeom~

(p.s: maynn, I really wanna play the game but psp emulator wont work on my pc T_T)
